i've decided to go for something different; i've had the same theme since i started LJ

i've been on an unofficial hiatus since my stuff got stolen in january - mostly because it was the second time in less than a year that i lost all my fics, and also because i was in this debate competition that sucked up a lot of my spare time.

but now i'm back from DC (where we lost T-T) and even though finals are just around the corner i'm sort of glad i have the energy (if not time) to start writing again, haha.

...as soon as i get over this pesky flu. walking in the rain in new york city really isn't the best way to get around...

so...that epic akame that i had been writing and got stolen with my airbook.

i'm redoing it. and i'm approaching it from a different perspective. for some reason i've decided that "don't speak" by no doubt is the title song to the akame soundtrack.

in other news, i saved myself copies of fics i had written in the past year, including the updated versions of long!fics.

i'm having trouble as it's the last chapter. i'm considering adding an epilogue, but i do hate uneven numbers. because then it'd be ten chapters + 1 epilogue and that's 11 parts and. yes. well.

went thru lj tagging all my old posts. never realised how much w-inds. fic i had written. i miss them. T-T

My bag was taken from the self-study lecture hall today at school. With about 25 people in the room, with a girl sitting behind my  bag and a guy sitting in front of it. The girl said she saw an old guy come in and go out  but she didn't see him take my bag. Security cameras caught the guy in question go into the hall and come out WITH MY BAG. Everything is gone. My schoolwork, my writing, all of it. I don't care about my wallet and phone and iPod. I can buy new ones. But my writing...

i'm sort of numb right now at the thought that I have to hand in 2 essays tomorrow. It's not like the teacher wouldn't want to give me an extension, it's just that it's for a competition, so there are no extensions to speak of.

All my writing is gone. I want to cry but I can't. I still have some stuff on an old USB from when I was transferring files to my macbook air (which was less than a year old, my poor baby), but that was from last year. So everything I had written since then (a lot of new half-done things and some half-finished chapters not yet posted), are all gone. Gone, gone, gone. Including the research I had been doing for my dissertation, my moot competition, and the epic Akame fic I had started making notes on.

It's 1:38 on my brother's spare laptop clock and the meeting tomorrow is at 9am.

It seems rather futile to cry now. I just need to get it done, but I just can't concentrate...

 I've been declining more parties than going to parties, which is odd because I'm sort of known as The Law School Party Animal. There's a reason why my classmates call me Captain, AHAHAHA. :D

But here I am on Saturday, with 3 rejected parties, almost 1:30 am, drinking amazing sake (aged 27 years) and watching gokusen 2 with a teddy bear and...I don't know.

I guess I just needed the alone time. Now if I had a cigarette it would be perfect :D

- 3/12: god i don't know. 4/12, 6/12 - whatever. i'm just going to die. D:

papers due in on friday, this is saturday, chacha is aiming to get them done by monday night, study group all day sunday (land law), ignoring the criminal ones even though they're pretty important, maybe i should do the criminal instead of land because i FUCKED UP MY CRIMINAL MIDTERM SO BAD. 

sigh. i feel like crying BUT I DON'T HAVE TIME TO.

 so I watched the infamous okinawa!akame clip that newshfan  so kindly subbed and has available for download at her LJ. Unfortunately, instead of squeeing over the chibi!akame cuteness, I couldn't help but feel...I don't know. Thoughtful. Contemplative. Sorry for Kame in an odd way. I wanted to give him a cookie and tell him, honey, you're going to be so hot in a few years, you don't need to do this. 

The first thing that caught my attention was their arrival at the Okinawa airport. You see the two of them coming out through the doors and there is Kame struggling with three bags and Akanishi with absolutely nothing. Was it a case of, "Kame, could you hold this for me, I'm tired?" or, "Jin, do you want me to hold your bag for you?" or was it Jin complaining and Kame offering to hold his bag or was it Jin being an ass and just asking Kame to do it?

But regardless, since that scene, the whole reality of what akame might have been hasn't been sitting well with me. I'm not saying that they weren't friends because they probably were, but that Kame very obviously thought the world of Jin (and, I remember from stalking him on the internet, having referred to him in interviews when he was a Junior as his best friend? I may be wrong), but what did Jin think of Kame? Did he look at Kame with more than self-praising pity, in the sense that he was Kame's friend because he needed one and Kame was there? It was clear that at that time they were still at a different level than Yamapi and Ryo and regardless, it would have been harder for Jin to become part of their already established friendship than begin a new one with Kame who started around the same time as him. And then how did Pi and Jin become the very best friends in the whole world that Jin would even name his dog after their namesquish (Pin)? Besides which, there are the mysteries surrounding Jin's brief stint in the states and really, if he had wanted to learn English there are plenty of native English speakers living in Tokyo making a living out of teaching English. 

So anyway. Watching that clip, it just...and then I also watched the Johnny's 2003 sports event backstage DVD clip, also by newshfan . The senpai groups knew who Kamenashi was at the time - I remember someone from Tokio asking, "Is Kamenashi any good?" and someone going "Yeah, he is." But at the same time, that was before KAT-TUN had their official debut. And another senpai talking to Koichi was just like, "I don't even know who NewS is," and Koichi had to point them out. Anyway. Food for thought, I guess.

I need to write a tremendously long non-AU akame fic to work this out of my system because good lord, I've been thinking about the akame thing since I watched the okinawa clip LAST WEEK. WHAT THE FUCK, MAN. WHAT THE FUCK. NOT LIKE I DON'T HAVE 3 ESSAYS TO WRITE AND FINALS IN 2 WEEKS. GREAT. FUCKING GREAT. D: (plus 200+ cases to read and brief. yay research work. fuck.)

I guess I'll wax poetic again about why I love Kame, but that's another rant for another sleepless night. ^^
